Community Residency
Ludus Dance piloted a Community Residency in Rossendale (Lancashire) working with a range of partner organisations in the area to kick start dance activity in the local area.
The Rossendale residency was centred round The Boo, the home of Horse and Bamboo Theatre Company, who supported the project with ‘in kind’ venue support. The project engaged the whole district with a week of exciting, accessible and entertaining dance activity for all sections of the community. This included young people, elderly people, disabled people and people from the ethnic minority areas of the district. The residency acted as a focus for other creative groups in the district, who became involved in the residency by offering other art-form activities broadening the scope of the event and paving the way for a future, community-led, cross artform annual festival.
