Lancaster Dance Development Project
The Lancaster Dance Development Project (LDDP) is a new intiative hosted by Ludus Dance and funded by Lancaster City Council. The project aims to improve the quality of life for hundreds of people across the Lancaster district by engaging them in dance activities over the next three years.
Two new part-time Dance Officers have been appointed to manage the strategic development and implementation of this project. Their immediate priority is to identify the needs of the local communuity in order to engage people of all ages and abilities in the kinds of dance activities that they want. They will also be seeking to increase the number of trained dance instructors able to deliver these activities (see below for more information).
The Dance Officers - Samantha Carruthers and Helen Gould - have already established a range of partnership links within the district and are preparing to begin delivering new projects early in the new year. These will include integrated dance activities, interactive music/dance experiences, regular community dance sessions and mass participatory dance events.
Should you wish to know more about the Lancaster Dance Development Project or to find out how your community group/organisation could get involved please contact Helen or Sam on lancasterdance@ludusdance.org
