The Friday Night Project

Lancaster Dance Development Project (LDDP) delivered a block of eight dance sessions as part of the More Music Friday Night Project. The project intended to engage girls in a diversionary activity alongside the MC project that runs successfully at More Music on a Friday evening and engages predominantly boys.

OUTCOME

By the end of the eight sessions, numbers had increased by 260% from week one. All participants wanted the sessions to continue on a regular basis and develop a dance crew. They were also keen to have access to further performance opportunities.

Following this positive feedback, we approached Stuart Glover and Richard Hammond from Lancaster City Council and have now been successful in obtaining over £2500 to support the continuation of the project over the next year. This will be delivered by a recently trained up member of the Ludus Freelance team Sasha Lassater.
