Dance encompasses many different forms and styles, and dance careers can exist in a whole variety of settings, from theatres, studios, arts centres and dance schools to hospitals, youth centres, streets and offices.
A career in dance, particularly as a performer, is by no means an easy option. It takes talent plus dedication, motivation, hard work, perseverance, passion (and often also a degree of luck along the way!). However, if like many others, this is your true vocation, then a career in the dance world can be immensely rewarding, long lasting and be of huge benefit to others in the wider community and society.
