Q. What work placements can I do at Ludus?
The touring company is Britain's Leading Dance in Education Company. When you join the touring company you can gain experience either shadowing the dancers delivering workshops on tour across the UK or there is the opportunity to shadow the Stage Manager and develop your technical skills.
Q. What's so good about work experience at Ludus?
Hopefully it is an opportunity to see a small co operative dance company in action. We program your time to ensure you get a variety of experiences so that you can really gain awareness of what our work involves. You can also be instrumental in planning your program. We provide you with meaningful tasks that will be beneficial to both you and the company.
Q. Do I need any previous experience?
You must have a strong interest in dance and it helps if you are studying a course in dance.
Q. Is there anything else I should know?
You have to be prepared to fund yourself if you are wanting to do work experience with the dancers in the touring company. They travel right across the UK delivering week long residencies right across the UK and frequently stay away from Lancaster. Unfortunately we can not provide financial assistance in you joining the company - you will have to be prepared to fund your travel and accommodation arrangements,
Q. How should I contact Ludus?
Write a letter or an e-mail to Anna Daly (see the address below) explaining when you want the placement, and why and specifically what you wish to look at with us; admin, dance teaching, marketing etc.
Q. Do I need to provide any references?
It helps if you can provide at least one reference from a teacher or tutor.
